Diaphragm Muscle

Let's get to know your DIAPHRAGM muscle!
This muscle is very special to me, it does not get enough attention and many people are not really aware of its existence! (despite its large size no less!)

The Diaphragm is pretty much right in the middle of you! It attaches under your ribs, sternum, and spine (basically seperating your tummy from your lungs!) and it is shaped like an umbrella or dome shaped' if you will...

Here's why I love this muscle - It is your primary muscle for breathing.  The diaphragm contracts when we inhale, creating a vacuum-like effect sucking air into our lungs! And when we relax the diaphragm on an exhale......this allows the lungs to happily deflate.

Here is a short and fun video visual of the diaphragm!

Diaphragmatic Breathing is one of the most important things you can do your well being.
